| It’s too complicated and time consuming. |
Actually, it only takes an afternoon gathering your information and determining what your goals are. We do the rest for you. |
| Getting advice will just lead to a sales pitch. |
Not at Financial Guidance Group. Since we are a fee-only firm, we aren’t compensated for the products or investments we recommend. We only get paid for our advice so you can rest assured it is objective. |
| Financial planning is too expensive. |
Untrue. We usually save our clients much more than the fee we charge. Plus, when compared to commission planners we will save you hundreds, if not thousands. |
| I need to have investments before I’ll have a need for a financial planner. |
Investments are only one-fifth of financial planning. We look at insurance, taxes, estate and retirement planning, and budgeting. |
| I can do it myself. I don’t need help. |
This may be true, but usually we find that most folks don’t have the time to keep up with the vast number of tax, retirement, estate, and insurance laws that arise each year. At the very least, we can provide a much needed second opinion on your finances. |
| I deal with so many sources already - my CPA, attorney, insurance agent, etc. Do I really need more? |
These other sources are essential, but they usually can’t look at your total financial picture. We act as the quarterback on your team of financial professionals to bring all your financial elements together in a concise, simple plan. |
| The advice you get is cookie-cutter; everybody gets the same spiel. |
While we employ disciplined planning methods, we realize that every person has different goals and means. We tailor the plan to your needs. We live by our motto: Comprehensive Advice, Individual Solutions. |
| I’m saving enough for retirement. |
The truth of the matter is most Americans aren’t saving enough for retirement or are underestimating the amount they need. Today, most Americans can expect to be retired for as many years as they worked. Couple this with the fact that 25% of Americans will end their days in a nursing home, and you are looking at a need for substantial retirement funds. |
| If something happens to me, my family will know what my wishes are. |
Unless you have discussed your wishes with them in detail and put them in writing, chances are they won’t. |
